20th Century Fox just announced today that James Cameron has signed to write and direct the next installments of the Avatar saga (no big surprise here)
John Landau will, once again, be partnering with James Cameron on the production.
There are rumors that the sequels will happen under the sea of Pandora and even within the galaxy.
There was some rumors about James Cameron making a Cleopatra movie for Sony Pictures, with Angelina Jolie as the lead, but Fox rushed in to make Cameron sign the papers to produce their next cash cows.
So be ready to get back on Pandora in some years.

James Cameron’s Avatar special edition just got released in 3D digital theaters and IMAX 3D today in America.This new version of the epic movie features 8 minutes of new footage that wasn’t included in the original theatrical release. It includes more scenes with the Na’vi. There’s also an upcoming DVD release of the special edition that features even more footage (including the opening in Earth that was cut due to runtime) You can watch the trailer embedded below: |
