Tim Burton‘s produced ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter‘ just got its first teaser trailer released.
The movie, directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted), is an adaptation of best-selling novel by Seth Grahame-Smith (who also did the screenplay). It tells a fictional story about the president’s vendetta against Vampires, that’s right. Lincoln hunts vampires. This is not a bio-pic, so don’t worry about inadequacies. The main character is played by Benjamin Walker. Here is the teaser trailer below
The movie looks like a lot of fun, and I quite liked 2008′s Wanted, it was so over the top that it was funny.
Here’s the official movie plot:
The film explores the secret life of our greatest president, and the untold history that shaped our nation. As a young boy, Abraham Lincoln (Benjamin Walker) witnesses the shocking death of his mother, leading him on a path to an ongoing war – and ultimately to the presidency – he chronicles in a hidden diary. The journal reveals the incredible story of a clandestine warrior who never stopped fighting for the country he led and the people he loved.
The movie is going to be released on June 22nd, and I can’t wait to see it.
Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland 3D is coming out tomorrow on 3D blu-ray with a special package including a regular DVD version, 2D blu-ray and a digital copy. Perfect for the holidays.
The regular blu-ray includes a lot of bonus content as “making of” material. Pretty cool to see how Burton’s twisted vision came to life.
I really enjoyed the movie, even if the 3D was post-converted, it looked just fine. Of course, Tim Burton should had filmed it with 3D native cameras, but they did a good job (unlike Clash of the Titans…).
There are much more blu-ray 3D releases coming out very soon. Please check out my special page dedicated on 3D blu-ray titles, I keep it updated frequently.
Oh boy, that came out from nowhere!
Looks like 20th Century Fox just won a bidding for the film rights of the novel “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter” written by Seth Grahame-Smith (he also penned the screenplay).
Tim Burton will produce the film and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Night Watch) is directing.
This movie will be filmed in 3D for a 2012 release. I embedded the promo trailer of the book so you can get an idea about what is it about: (WARNING: blood)
Bizarre project, that’s for sure…
Tim Burton’s animated film Frankenweenie will have a voice cast consisting of Winona Ryder, Martin Landau, Catherine O’Hara and Martin Short.
The movie is a remake of the first production of Tim Burton made for Disney in the eighties. The original film was pretty much underexposed due to the nature of the content (reliving a dead dog). Disney changed its mind and decided to go for a stop motion animated film filmed in stereoscopic 3D, which means it will look like ‘Coraline’.
The film will be released on March 9, 2012, in Digital 3D.
