Warner Bros

Harrison Ford returning for Blade Runner sequel

UPDATE: Seems like the producer has a different take on this rumor, which is, it’s fake. Original post is still below.
ORIGINAL REPORT: Straight from the ‘take it with a grain of salt‘ department, TwitchFilm is reporting that Harrison Ford is in early talks to participate in the Ridley Scott’s cult classic Blade Runner sequel/remake.

We already documented this some months ago about a report that Ridley Scott is going to revisit one of his most beloved films. We are not sure if he will be directing or producing, but it seems that he will be involved in some way.

So if Harrison Ford is returning to play his Rick Deckard character, this means that the previous plan about the film being a fresh remake can be tossed away, and now the project will be a direct sequel to the original, that is IF Harrison Ford joins the project.

The film is still under pre-production and according to a LA Times interview from August 2011, the producer Andrew Kosove is estimating that the shooting will begin early 2013. So if everything goes by the plan, we’ll see a release for 2014/2015. It all depends if the movie doesn’t fall on production hell, which is very common in Hollywood…

Stay tuned for more developing stories regarding this remake/sequel (whatever it turns out to be).

The crazy new movie remake of the day comes from Deadline.

Apparently, there has been a new Blade Runner movie under preparations since March, when Warner Bros decided to repurchase the rights to the classic cult movie ‘Blade Runner’ directed by Ridley Scott in 1982.

The thing is, it’s astonishing that Warner Bros is willing to accept Ridley Scott again as a director after the clash between these two when making the first version. Blade Runner is a film that suffered a lot of studio’s executives intervention, to the point that Ridley Scott disowned the movie until he was allowed to recut his own version several years later.

We don’t know if this movie is going to be a sequel, a prequel or a remake, nothing is set in stone. Nor we know if Harrison Ford will have any involvement in this production, but what we are certain is that this movie will be filmed in 3D after the comments made by Scott at the latest Comic-Con while shooting Alien prequel-ish ‘Prometheus’.

A Very Harold Kumar 3D Christmas

Christmas just came early. Warner Bros and New Line just released the trailer of the latest entry from the Harold and Kumar saga properly named A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas.

We can see our heroes in new adventures along with their friend, and trouble maker, Neil Patrick Harris playing again as himself.

Looks like the movie is making fun of the whole 3D trend and use some good old 3D gimmicks to ‘wow’ the audience (surely for comedic/satirical purposes).

I’ve embedded the trailer below:

Here’s the official plot, (but who needs it anyways, right?…)

After years of growing apart, Harold Lee and Kumar Patel have replaced each other with new friends and are preparing for their respective Yuletide celebrations.

But when a mysterious package mistakenly arrives at Kumar’s door on Christmas Eve, his attempt to redirect it to Harold’s house ends with the “high grade” contents — and Harold’s father-in-law’s prize Christmas tree — going up in smoke. With his in-laws out of the house for the day, Harold decides to cover his tracks, rather than come clean. Reluctantly embarking on another ill-advised journey with Kumar through New York City, their search for the perfect replacement tree takes them through party heaven — and almost blows Christmas Eve sky high.

A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas will be released this November 4.

Happy Feet Two poster

Happy Feet’s sequel, appropriately titled, Happy Feet Two, got a new trailer and poster released today.

The movie is directed once again by George Miller (who started his career long ago with Mad Max and then later with Babe, the pig) and it features the voices of Elijah Wood, Robin Williams, Pink (!!), Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Hugo Weaving among others.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The sequel to “Happy Feet,” the Academy Award-winning animated smash hit, “Happy Feet Two” returns audiences to the magnificent landscape of Antarctica in superb 3D.

Mumble, The Master of Tap, has a problem because his tiny son, Erik, is choreo-phobic. Reluctant to dance, Erik runs away and encounters The Mighty Sven — a penguin who can fly! Mumble has no hope of competing with this charismatic new role model. But things get worse when the world is shaken by powerful forces.

Erik learns of his father’s “guts and grit” as Mumble brings together the penguin nations and all manner of fabulous creatures — from tiny Krill to giant Elephant Seals — to put things right.

Well, I kinda enjoyed the first one for what it was: a cute animated film for children (I still can’t believe it won the Oscar for best Animated feature, then again, Pixar released Cars…). I don’t know if it warrants a sequel but hey, penguins are cute, and cuteness sells.. So here it is.

Happy Feet Two will be unleashed on November 17, 2011 for North America and December 16, 2011 for Australia in Digital 3D and IMAX 3D.

The Hobbit Dwarves

Another image from The Hobbit, this time showing the full gang of Dwarves. Looks pretty cool.

Also, Peter Jackson released a new funny production video showing a new place of shooting (I won’t spoil it) and also a few new surprises. See it embedded below.

This series won’t die!

After the last entry made its 3D debut, it seems like Warner Brothers earned enough money from the same old ‘Death is gonna get you’  formula franchise to make another film…

IMPAWards just released 3 different posters from the film featuring the same thematic (skull). It seems to me that Warner Bros is cashing in into the end of the Saw franchise and is exploiting this as much as they can. If the movie is successful enough, they’ll shoot two more sequels back-to-back.

Here is the trailer embedded below:

And here’s the official synopsis:

No matter where you run, no matter where you hide… you can’t cheat death. Death is just as omnipresent as ever, and is unleashed after one man’s premonition saves a group of coworkers from a terrifying suspension bridge collapse. But this group of unsuspecting souls was never supposed to survive, and, in a terrifying race against time, the ill-fated group frantically tries to discover a way to escape Death’s sinister agenda.

Final Destination 5 will be released on August 12th in the US.
